I have completed the Retail level 4 apprenticeship with Remit. As a relatively new manager to the business, I decided the best way to get a better understanding of retail was to complete the apprenticeship at the highest level that I could. It really allowed me to deep dive into the business to grasp a detailed understanding of all aspects, from the point of financing the buying team through to selling the products to the customer and the importance of customer loyalty. I would definitely recommend this course as it has not only increased my retail knowledge for The Original Factory Shop but also retail as a whole and also built my confidence with management skills.

Having not been in education for 10 years I wanted to do some self-development, so I enquired about the apprenticeship scheme. I had been with the company for 6 months and I wanted to improve my knowledge and skills especially around business. A few days after enquiring I was given a course catalog of apprenticeships The Original Factory Shop offer, there were loads of great courses available and at all different levels. I chose the Business Administration Level 3 course as this is relevant to my role, and the process to enroll was easy. The course is predominantly self-taught and requires a great deal of determination and excellent time management skills. I receive a great deal of support from my manager and my tutor is available when needed to provide support. My course is for 18 months and involves written modules, a test and a practical module which involves creating a business improvement proposal. I study one day a week during my working hours, which is great. I couldn’t recommend The Original Factory Shop as a place to work enough and would highly recommend signing up to the apprenticeship program. The support and encouragement I’ve received is amazing. I am excited to complete the course and look forward to what the future holds at The Original Factory Shop.
